What is in Vasogen?
Vasogen is a medicinal barrier cream. It contains the active ingredients: Dimethicone (20% w/w), Zinc Oxide (7.5% w/w) and Calamine (1.5% w/w) which will soothe the skin and protect from irritation. It also contains the following inactive ingredients which help to preserve the cream: Aluminium Hydroxide, Lanolin, Methylcellulose, Phenonip and purified water. Vasogen comes in tubes of 50g or 100g.
Uses
Water repellent barrier cream, used to help prevent and treat nappy rash and bedsores. It may also be used for local protection of the skin around the stoma after ileostomy and colostomy
How to use Vasogen:
Rub gently on to the skin and leave to dry. Repeat if required. Use as often as necessary and especially after changing nappies.
Special warnings:
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using if:
- You are allergic to any of the ingredients
- The affected area is weeping
- You are unsure whether Vasogen is suitable for you
